Disney and Takei and Ducks! Ohhhh my!
Star Trek’s “Sulu” and famous Disney illustrator both beam aboard 10th annual Emerald City Comicon in March 2012!
Seattle, WA – Actor and pop culture icon George Takei (“Sulu” from the all-time classic series Star Trek, Heroes, The Howard Stern Show) and famous Disney comic artist/writer Don Rosa are the latest special guests announced for the upcoming Emerald City Comicon on March 30th, 31st, and April 1st, 2012 at the Washington State Convention Center.
George Takei can truly be called a living legend, solely on the basis of his co-starring as “Mr. Sulu” on one of television history’s most popular shows ever, Star Trek. That journey that began almost 50 years ago saw him break the mold as a Asian-American cast in a non-stereotypical role for the time. Takei’s “Sulu” saw three seasons on Star Trek, six theatrical films, an animated series, and guest-starring on other Star Trek television spin-offs and video games. A whole new generation of fans know him not only from his recurring role as “Kaito Nakamura” on NBC’s Heroes but also as the announcer and frequent guest of The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM Radio. Other credits include Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone, The Six-Million Dollar Man and most recently in Supah Ninjas. He can be seen in the upcoming Strange Frame: Love and Sax. (more…)
