Zen LogoZenescope Entertainment has announced its newest Grimm Fairy Tales spin off mini-series, entitled Grimm Fairy Tales: No Tomorrow. The five part mini-series is a supernatural horror/thriller that could be the scariest comic the company has published since its spine-tingling comic book prequel to the film SE7EN back in 2007.

Set in the not so far off future, the long fought battle between the forces of good and evil has finally come to an end, and now an ancient new horror has entered the Grimm Universe. Keres, the Goddess of the Death, has begun to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting Earth, and one family man will feel the effects more than any other. Now this man must attempt to uncover the truth behind Keres and how to stop her before all is lost. But will his obsession with destroying “death” also prove to be his downfall? (more…)

GFTHunters_1_cover DigitalGFT  – HUNTERS: The Shadowlands #1
Written by Raven Gregory
Publisher: Zenescope
Covers by Anthony Spay and Paulo Siqueira
Price:  $2.99

Our five hunters have reunited. Sela, Van Helsing, Roman, Elija, and Masumi all find each other in a place called The Shadowlands. Honestly, the thought of a place called The Shadowlands automatically makes me feel like sticking around is a bad idea, but in their case really they have no choice. This issue follows the group individually a little as well as all together in a way to really set up the entire story arch, and draws on personal faults and strengths. Roman is there for who knows how long, talking to himself all Castaway like, and seems reluctant to join the group. The others get separated, tracked, attacked. There are a flurry of things that could possibly go wrong here given their personalities and backgrounds. (more…)

Danko meets with an FBI agent to review a cold case file she thinks he should see. It happens to contain information on Legrasse and how she survived her entire family being murdered.  Meanwhile Legrasse is busy trying to figure out how Johnny Liddle connects to a recent string of homicides.  Emotion runs high as she reviews Lovecraft’s mysterious discovery of a cave covered in old markings and harboring a few sticky but fearsome foes.  All leading up to a very gruesome stabbing and an ever so bloody ending.

The Madness is almost over now with this being the 3rd of 4 issues in the story arch and I am definitely excited to see how all of this plays out. I’ve said it before and I’m sure I will say it again until you’re sick of hearing it, but I love the Wonderland titles. The storyline is deep, twisted, and sometimes very dark, but it’s the instability of the characters and the unbalanced senses of reality that draw me in every time. I could read Wonderland, all day. With this wrapping up soon and Down The Rabbit Hole coming soon, I can definitely guaranty that I’ll have my nose stuck in all of them. So if my word counts for anything, you should all be reading them as well. I have absolutely nothing but praise for Wonderland and its many titles.

Mowglii and Tobaqui continue their struggle through the maze like cave where they find they are certainly not alone. While Bomani morns the loss of his father, he begins striking a deal with Dewan who promises he has something that can take the pain away. Elsewhere, Akili and the gang are all in search of their missing friends hoping to find them before the unthinkable happens.

Personally I haven’t been able to get super excited about any of the Jungle Book titles. They are pretty and well written and the dialog can be amusing. It’s the overall story that just doesn’t catch my eye. Not that it’s bad. It’s a brilliant idea. I suppose I just can call this one “my cup of tea.” In retrospective this is probably due to me merely skimming most of the back issues. So in short my opinion? It might be for you, and I’ll probably give it a second shot, but it’s not my favorite.
